A Schuylkill County man died Monday morning in a crash on Route 61 in Berks County.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, the crash occurred around 6:45am on Route 61 just south of the intersection with Hughes Hill Road in Windsor Township, Berks County.
Police say Jordan Smith, 22, from Tamaqua was traveling south on Route 61 while a Randy Leh, 57, from Wyomissing was traveling north.
For unknown reasons on this time, Smith crossed the center line and struck the Leh head on.
Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by the Berks County Coroners Office.
Leh was transported to a Reading Hospital for his injuries.
Route 61 was closed for several hours while the scene was cleared.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Hamburg EMS, Union Fire Company of Hamburg, Shoemakersville Fire, Hamburg Police, and V&M Towing.
