A multi-alarm fire near Ringtown on Saturday destroyed multiple structures and vehicles and started a brush fire.
Around 1:15pm, Saturday, emergency personnel were called to 276 Trout Run Road in Union Township for a report of a structure fire. We should note this is the same property where humane, township officials, and law enforcement seized 74 animals earlier this week. Electricity had also been cut to the property the day prior.
Once firefighters got to the scene of the home, they found multiple sheds and vehicles on the property on fire that was also igniting a brush fire.
A 2nd alarm was issued for a tanker task force calling in additional tankers to help with water.
The fire was brought under control within 2 hours but not before causing extensive damage. Firefighters were also faced with extreme hoarding conditions on the property.
Firefighters were on scene for almost 4 hours doing extensive overhaul. Township officials were also at the scene with a bulldozer to stop any further spreading of the brush fire.
Several animals still on the property had to be rescued during the incident.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
One firefighter was also treated at the scene for minor burns.
