John A. Cominsky
, 74, of Wescosville and Mahanoy City, died March 2022, at his home in Wescosville.

Born July 27, 1947, to Stanley W. and Alice C. (Kalinsky) Cominsky of Mahanoy City, he was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Stanley, and sister Jean Holland. He is survived by a sister Joan Carnahan of Cape May, NJ, and a brother Anthony of Mahanoy City.

John was a 1965 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School. An Army Veteran, he served his country as an MP in Vietnam in 1968 with the 18th Military Police Brigade.

John moved to the Lehigh Valley in 1972, where he attended some college before beginning work in the construction industry. His employers included International Custom Built Homes, and Eastern Industries, from which he retired as a foreman and shop steward for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

John was a proud member of the American Legion in Mahanoy City, and the Rural Sportsman’s Association in Breinigsville, PA. He loved camping and fishing and spent much time at his camper in Sullivan County, PA.

Services are scheduled for Monday, April 11, at St Teresa Church in Mahanoy City. Visitation at 9AM, Funeral Mass at 10AM, followed by interment at Ft Indiantown Gap.

Karen L. Wagner, age 64, of Frackville, passed away Wednesday afternoon at her home. 

Born at the former Locust Mountain Hospital she was the daughter of the late Charles and Betty (Morgan) Budwash. She was a 1974 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and received an associate degree in accounting from McCann School of Business. Karen was the first female firefighter in Schuylkill County having served then with the Humane Fire Company in Mahanoy City. She was a member of the Friendship Fire Company in Frackville and enjoyed picking mushrooms. She had been employed as a gate attendant at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, worked at Wegman's at High Ridge Industrial Park and last worked for and retired from the housekeeping department at Broad. Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation in Frackville. 

She is survived by her husband of 16 years Laurence "Red" Wagner, a son Edward Chescattie of Trenton, brothers and sisters Joan Klatka and her husband John of Weston Place, Charles and his wife Maureen of Morea, Betty Malacusky and her companion Cyril Kufro of Fountain Springs, Cheryl Souchack of Trenton, Kathy Sheirich and her husband Lester of Pine Grove, Gary and his wife Alice of Pine Grove and Terri Marowski of Grier City. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. 

Private services will be held from David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City.

Todd Steven Zimmerman
, 56, of Halifax, formerly of Minersville, died on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at UPMC, Harrisburg.

Born on July 13, 1965 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Richard and Margaret Lloyd Halye Zimmerman. He was a 1983 graduate of Minersville Area High School. the Head of School for the Northern Dauphin Christian School. He found his passion in Christian Education, as a youth Pastor, a missionary, and was working on his doctorate in education.

Todd knew how to put on a festive Holiday meal. He enjoyed cooking and providing meals for others. He also enjoyed attending musicals and plays, participating in them as well as directing them.

Todd was preceded in death by four siblings, Donald Zimmerman, David Zimmerman, William Zimmerman and Gale Fiorini.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, the former Laura Spackman; three children, Kaitlyn Zimmerman and Joel Zimmerman, both of Halifax, Caleb Zimmerman (spouse, Brianna), Harrisburg. He is also survived by seven siblings, Margaret Ann Kemble (spouse, Larry), Reinerton, Thomas Halye (spouse, Mary Jo), Cass Township, Rosemarie Zimmerman, Pottsville, Richard Zimmerman Jr., Pine Grove, Cynthia DeWolff, Las Vegas, Nev., Randy Zimmerman (spouse, Karen), Harrisburg, and Kevin Zimmerman (spouse, Rose), Girardville; nieces and nephews.

Services were held at David's Community Bible Church, Millersburg. Interment was in the church cemetery. Because of his connection to the school, the family prefers contributions to Northern Dauphin Christian School, 1072 State Route 25, Millersburg, PA 17061.

Joshua L. Gundry
, 33, of McAdoo, Pennsylvania died unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday, March 30th, 2022.

Born Thursday, November 17, 1988 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, he is survived by his mother, Lenore (Weston) Scatton and her fiancée Jeffrey Wagner with whom he resided; father, Robbee James Gundry; brothers, Josiah Gundry and his wife Danielle Parisi - Gundry and Jacob Goralewski; step brother, Matthew Scatton and family; nephew, Elijah; nieces, Aria and Aries; and maternal grandparents, Lenny and Rose Weston.

Preceding Joshua in death are sisters, Lydia Joy Gundry and Dana Marie Scatton; and step brother, Bobby Scatton.

A Hazleton High School graduate, Joshua was employed with Coll home Improvements. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowboarding, and living life to the fullest. Joshua was a voracious reader, always looking to expand on his wealth of knowledge.

A Celebration of Joshua's Life will be held at the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services at 211 First Street in Weatherly, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Joshua will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery Weatherly, Pennsylvania next to his beloved sisters.
