Black Creek Township Fire Under Investigation

A fire in Black Creek Township, Luzerne County is under investigation.

Just after 11:15am, Tuesday, emergency personnel from Luzerne County and northern Schuylkill County were called to 520 Hazle St, in Black Creek Township Luzerne County for a working house fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene and found heavy fire in the rear of the home.  The fire was brought under control within an hour. 

According to Nuremberg Fire, several animals died in the fire along with others being rescued.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and radio communication to those responding to the fire were informed that the fire may have been possibly set on purpose over a tenant landlord dispute.

Luzerne County law enforcement is at the scene investigating.  Animal rescue officials are also at the scene removing animals.

Responding to the scene were units from Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer Fire Company, Sugarloaf Fire Company Inc,, Hazle Twp. Fire & Rescue Company, Ringtown Valley Fire & Rescue Co., Squrt 64-20 Ladder 64-25(Shenandoah), The Polish American Fire Co.(Shenandoah), Harwood Fire Company,, West Hazleton Fire Department Engine, West End Fire & Rescue(Mahanoy City) Shenandoah Community Ambulance, and Pennsylvania State Police from the Hazleton Barracks.
