Born in Sheppton she was a daughter of the late Paul and Helen Labuda Polega. She had been employed as a cashier for Boyer’s Markets, Frackville, for 43 years until her retirement in 2016. Known as the “ singing cashier” customers always knew when Darlene was working because of her singing.
Darlene was a lifelong resident of Frackville until moving with her daughter and son-in-law in Gordon. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother. Darlene will always be remembered as a kind soul who enjoyed reading, sitting outside, family gatherings and singing while being shadowed by her faithful sidekick Sammy Joe.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Seitzinger in 2016.
Darlene is survived by her son Howie and his wife Sandy Seitzinger, Kulpmont, her daughter with whom she resided Christina and her husband Rich Korn, Gordon, her cousin Carol Hastings, NC and herlifelong friend and sister-in-law Lenore Seitzinger, her grandchildren; Richard and Ryan Korn, Trevor Seitzinger, Teresa Snyder, Serenity. She is also survived by her good friend and caretaker Annabelle Price.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions, in Darlene’s name, be made to the Alzheimers Association.

Born in Allentown, PA on October 23, 1970, Glenn is the son of Gerald and Lois (Lukash) Vancavage of Bradenton, Fl and formerly of PA. A graduate of Salisbury High School in 1988, he had been employed as the building maintenance manager for Concord United Methodist Church in Knoxville.
In addition to his wife and parents, Glenn is survived by a daughter, Erika Vancavage of Knoxville; brother, Jeffrey Vancavage and his wife Robin; 3 nephews; several aunts and uncles; and mother-in-law, Mary VanPelt of PA.
Services will be scheduled for a later date.

Thomas Earl Geary, 77, of Southport, FL, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday, May 15th, at his residence in Florida.
Born in Pottsville, on May 25, 1944, a son of the late Anna Miller and Earl Geary.
Tom was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School. He was employed by Merrick Industries, Inc. as a mechanical designer. Following his passion for cars, he opened Salvagion, an auto dealership where he would restore broken down vehicles. He would then sell them to people in need for a very minimal cost. This was his ministry for many years.
Tom had a passion for music, was a talented drummer and played with several groups throughout his life.
Tom is survived by his sons Thomas E. Geary, Jr. & wife Jean, Bradenton, FL and Stephen Geary & wife Nena, Lake Wynonah; grandchildren Victoria Griffin & husband Forest, Lauren Geary and Ian Hornberger; sisters Beth Pauly & husband John, Schuylkill Haven and Jane Geary, Sunland, CA; and a brother Mark Brown & wife, Karen, Texas.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 on Monday, May 23rd at Geschwindt Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. in Schuylkill Haven with Pastor Jim Fidler. A viewing will be held prior from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
Josephine Helen Walacavage, 91, formerly of both Branch and Norwegian townships, entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Luther Ridge Assisted Living Center at Seider's Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and brother, John.

Jo was born March 5, 1931, in Minersville, a daughter of the late John and Stella (Bartnisky) Land.
She is survived by her four daughters, Joanne Murphy, husband, Francis, Cathy Andrachick, husband, John, Mary Beth Kievman, husband, Jason, and Laurie Hess, husband, Larry; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Chris, Matt, Shane, Caitlin, Cody, Wyatt, Connor and step-granddaughter, Jill; six great-grandchildren, Dexter, Caitriona, Collin, Alannah, Everly and Josie.
Josephine graduated from Minersville Area High School. She was employed in the garment industry and later worked at Middleport Materials. She happily volunteered at Mary Beth's Gymnastic Studio, where she loved celebrating each student's cartwheel. She could also be found volunteering her time at the Church Solidarity and Parent clubs. Jo even helped start the library at the Intermediate Unit. She enjoyed horseback riding and was a member of the Boots and Saddle Club.
Being the proud owner of the No. 48 race car, she was an avid dirt track racing fan. She could be found in the pits with the crew at Big Diamond, Schoentown, Grandview and Penn National race tracks. Jo was a host for many Fresh Air children and even a foreign exchange student. Jo's favorite passion was traveling to New York to attend Broadway shows. She had seen "The Phantom of the Opera" so many times that she had lost count. In her spare time, Jo enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, flower arranging and attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events. Being a fan of holidays, she enjoyed decorating the house and having it full of family. Halloween was her favorite holiday. Jo loved dressing up as "Madame Josephine" the fortune teller and telling fortunes at her grandchildren's parties. She loved the beach and enjoyed vacationing with her family in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey. Jo loved animals, especially dogs. She took in strays and donated regularly to Hillside SPCA.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jo's name to Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, Pottsville, PA 17901.
