Lee Gerald Bixler, 85 of Mountain Road, Hegins, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at home.

He was born on March 30, 1937 in Valley View, a son of the late Lloyd C. and Grace E. Stutzman Bixler.

Lee grew up in Valley View. He started a paper route at age 10 with a bicycle he put together with parts. Lee was a 1955 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He proceeded through life with different occupations and always said he'd like to have his own business. He owned and operated Bixler's Country Meats since 1960. So, here we are 62 years later and Bixler's Country Meats is still running strong. Even though Lee retired a few years ago, he still went to the shop almost daily. He took the phone calls and did the billing which kept him feeling like he was still a part of his legacy.

He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.

Lee was also a member of FandAM Valley Lodge #797 Valley View, Harrisburg Consistory Sacramento Fire Company, and the Meat Processors Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Minerva Bixler, Rojean Boyer, Anna Stutzman, Rhea Miller, and brothers Dean and Ned Bixler.

Lee is survived by his wife Jean E (Wiest) Bixler, to whom he was married for 63 years.

He is also survived by two daughters, Yvonne and husband Kenny Stiely of Hegins, Lori and husband Steve Troyanoski of Sellersville; three grandsons, Derck andTimothy Stiely of Hegins, Michael Troyanoski of Glen Mills; granddaughter, Alison Troyanoski of Philadelphia; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Per Lee's wishes, private burial will be made in St. Andrew's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Lee's name can be made to the Sacramento Fire Company.

Edward V. Gimeno, 93, of Barnesville, PA, passed away Sunday, June 12th, at Lehigh Valley East Norwegian, Pottsville.


Edward was born in Mahanoy City, on August 6, 1928, a son of the late Helen Storpitis and Vincent Gimeno.

He was husband of the late Margaret (Kubilus) Gimeno.

Edward is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Gimeno, of Staten Island; a son, Edward Gimeno, of Barnesville; and by a sister, Dolores Mitchell, of Barnesville. He is also survived by 3 Grandchildren Joseph Mayesky, Karlee Gimeno, and Edie Gimeno, and several nieces.

In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by brothers Ted, and Thomas.

Interment will be private at the National Cemetery in Fort Indiantown Gap Annville, PA.

Carl Lamar Rarick, aged 84 of Orwigsburg passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 10th with his daughters by his side at Orwigsburg Center.

Carl was born on October 24, 1937 in Port Clinton, Pa. He was one of seven children, son of the late Neida Anna (Potts) and Archibald S. Rarick.

Carl was the widower of Ethel M. (Mengel) Rarick who passed away February of 2013. Carl was a 1955 graduate of Orwigsburg High School, after which he served several years in the US Navy. Carl was then a truck driver for about 10 years. He was last employed by the beryllium company, Brush Wellman, Shoemakersville, from which he retired in 2000 as a foreman/slitter.

Carl lived a full life, he was a loyal, loving and supportive husband and father. He enjoyed many years of deer hunting. Carl was also an experienced traveler. He and son Andrew shared many vacations together with their wives. They visited many places, including Las Vegas and South Carolina, enjoyed many Cruises, including Italy and the Bahamas.

He especially enjoyed casino trips, collecting artwork/paintings, coins and hats.
Carl is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Terrey, wife of Joseph, Orwigsburg and Jody Bensinger, wife of Kevin, Schuylkill Haven, with whom he resided since 2020. He is survived by six grandchildren. Derrek Thomas, companion of Katelynn Steich; Megan Lenig; Jacob, Kayla, Lexi and Miles Lamar Bensinger.

Carl is also survived by two sisters, Loretta Leymeister, wife of Ivan and Fern Moyer, widow of Charles; one brother, Robert Rarick, husband of Ruth.

Carl was predeceased by an infant son in 1971 and by son, Andrew Rarick in September 2021. He was also preceded in death by sister, Reta Antalosky, brother Russell Rarick and by an infant brother.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 17th at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg with Pastor Paul Noecker officiating.
Visitation will begin at 9am.
Interment will be private.

MaryAnn Siket
, 75, of Pottsville, died peacefully Friday surrounded by her family at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill, East Norwegian St.

She was born December 14, 1946 in Pottsville a daughter of the late Charles F. and Marie Rosenberger.

She was a 1964 graduate of Nativity BVM High School and the former Schuylkill Business Institute with an associate degree in Business.

Prior to retiring she was employed by Tony Pilo State Farm Insurance Agency, Pottsville.

She was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

Throughout her life MaryAnn dedicated herself to supporting her children and grandchildren both academically and athletically, she was their biggest supporter and cheerleader. She was loved by her entire family they will miss her and her famous homemade lasagna and chicken pot pie.

Surviving are her husband Thomas Siket, to whom she married on Oct 11, 1969; her children, Brian Siket and his wife Rachel, Spring City and sons, Brian Siket, Jr., and Jordan Siket; Scott Siket, Pottsville and his daughter, Camryn; Dennis Siket and his wife Janelle, Pottsville, and their children, Brooke and Kylie Siket; Denise Siket and her companion, Travis Yeager, Pottsville; and her children Cora, Laila, Dominic, and Christian Alvarez; a brother, Charles Bartholomew, Pottsville; her buddy grand dog, Teddy; nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9AM until the time of mass. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of MaryAnn be made to Hillside SPCA PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Arrangements are under the care of James E Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Joanne M. Wolfgang, 74, of Arch Street, Ashland, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022, with family by her side, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Fountain Springs, at the former Ashland State General Hospital, June 21, 1947, she was the daughter of Charles and Frances Kopfinger Knipp. She was a graduate of Immaculate Heart High School, Fountain Springs, class of 1966. JOANNE was employed at the K Mart department store in the Schuylkill Mall, Frackville, as an Advertising Manager until her retirement. She was a member of the Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland. Preceding her in death was her husband, Ronald Wolfgang, passing in 2002, and a son Houston Wolfgang.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life funeral service, June 25, 2022, at 2 PM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Dana Heckman Beil, pastor of the Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashland. Visitation with JOANNE’S family will begin at 1 PM until service. Memorials may be made to the Hillside S.P.C.A., Hillside Road, Pottsville, PA. 17901. V
