Born June 7, 1931 in Passaic, New Jersey, Marie was the daughter of the late Louis and Margaret Zubowicz.
Marie graduated from Passaic Senior High School in 1949 with the caption “We who know her, love her”.
During her lifetime, Marie worked a handful of jobs that included working in a blind manufacturing facility, working as kitchen help in schools and nursing homes, and Jeld-Wen where she retired in 1995.
Marie was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Ringtown.
In her spare time, Marie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, listening to the radio, and most importantly “booking it” (word searches). Marie loved ice cream, a nice glass of Kosher wine, watching the hummingbirds, hot weather and her family.
In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Muhaw; sons, Barry Muhaw and Carey Muhaw, and a daughter, Margory Muhaw.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Muhaw, Ringtown. A grandson, Joseph Bettis and his wife Shawna, Shenandoah and granddaughter Paige Baker and her husband Billy, Ringtown.
Marie will be remembered as a small, but brazen lady, who will be greatly missed by many.
The Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home is assisting her family during this time of need.

Carol A. Zuppert, 73, of Pottsville, passed away early Wednesday morning at the Orwigsburg Nursing and Rehab Center from Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS).Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late John and Magdalene Harnadek Namiotkiewicz.
Carol was a graduate of Minersville Area High School and McCann School of Business. She was retired from Schuylkill IU 29, MarLin, where she worked as a secretary. Previously she had worked for UPS and Argo Knitting Mills. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bob Zuppert in 2009.
She is survived by her two sons, Carmen Zuppert and his wife Paulette, Schuylkill Haven and Rob Zuppert and his wife Emily, McLean, Va; and 5 grandchildren, Sabrina, Madeline, Lillian, Pearce and Walter.
During retirement, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and watching Hallmark movies. She will be deeply missed during our family holiday dinners and beach vacations.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 AM at St. John The Baptist Church, Pottsville. Rev. Kevin J. Bobbin will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St. Minersville on Monday morning from 8 AM to 10 AM. Interment will be in St. John The Baptist Cemetery, Pottsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer remembrances of Carol be in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 712 South Keyser St., Taylor, Pa. 18517. Contributions will also be accepted at the Funeral Home.

Bernard A. Ehlers, 85 of Pottsville, died Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill, East Norwegian St.
He was born on October 12, 1936 in Pottsville a son of the late Ernest H. and Kathryn Klusinsky Ehlers.
He was a graduate of Pottsville High School.
He was an veteran having served in the Army.
Bernie was employed by the former Allied Chemical, prior to retiring.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville and the Walter Griffiths AMVETS Post #180, Pottsville.
Throughout his life he was avid Dallas Cowboy Fan.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ernest and Allan Ehlers.
Surviving are his wife Marsha A. Slatick Ehlers, Pottsville; a son Edward Ehlers, Pottsville; 2 daughters, Paula Bubeck and her husband Richard, Orwigsburg; Marsha Ann Schwalm and her husband James, Minersville; a granddaughter Tiffany Schell; his Rottweiler, Samuel; Nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held 10AM Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, with Rev. Chris Rothharpt officiating. There will be no viewing prior to services. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Bernie be made to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
