A Saint Clair man is behind bars after being taken into custody on Tuesday for 3 separate warrants that included a slew of charges including open lewdness involving a minor, fleeing police, and aggravated assault of a parole officer.
Stephen Kubeika, 34, of Saint Clair was taken into custody in Saint Clair on Tuesday by law enforcement.
According to court documents, Kubeika's current troubles began on May 5th, 2022 when a 14-year-old female filed a complaint with the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven. The juvenile told police that on May 1st, 2022, she was with her mother and her mother's boyfriend, Kubeika, at a home in New Castle Township.
The juvenile told police that after her mother left the room, Kubeika had exposed himself in front of her and later sent her inappropriate messages through Snapchat.
For this incident, Kubeika had been charged with corruption of minors, indecent exposure, open lewdness, and harassment. A warrant was then issued for his arrest.
The second incident occurred on May 14th, 2022 in Saint Clair when Kubeika fled borough police on a motorcycle.
According to court documents from Saint Clair borough Police, Kubeika spotted driving a motorcycle in the borough and was known to have a suspended license from a DUI incident. He was also easily identifiable because he was not wearing helmet.
Kubeika led police in a pursuit throughout Saint Clair and eventually escaped after going off road.
For this, a second warrant was issued for Kubeika's arrest on charges of fleeing and eluding police, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, careless driving, and numerous traffic violations.
The third incident occurred on July 27th, 2022, when, according to court documents, officers from the State Police, Schuylkill County Adult Probation, and Saint Clair Police responded to a home in the 300 block of Chestnut Street in New Castle Township to serve the warrants on Kubeika from the previous two incidents.
The officers arrived to find Kubeika inside a garage in the rear of the residence.
Kubeika was given verbal commands to exit the garage, but instead he hopped on an ATV and drove through a large metal garage door. In the process, Kubeika drove towards police and struck and adult probation officer, and nearly struck 5 others.
He was able to successfully escape again fleeing into a wooded area. A third warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Tuesday, August 9th, 2022, law enforcement arrived at home in the St. Clair Family Development on Cherry Street and took Kubeika into custody without further incident for violating his parole.
On Tuesday afternoon, Kubeika was brought before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko where he was arraigned on the 3 previous three incidents.
Judge Plachko locked Kubeika up in Schuylkill County Prison on $75,000 straight cash for the incident involving the minor, $50,000 straight cash for the incident involving fleeing on the motorcycle, and $100,000 straight cash for the incident involving fleeing and hitting the parole officer.
Kubeika remains locked up in prison and is scheduled to appear before Judge Plachko on August 16th, 2022 for his preliminary hearing on all 3 incidents.
