A Tremont Dentist who was arrested earlier this month on sex charges is facing additional charges as more victims came forward.
Dr. Scott Miller Parkinson, 58, of Orwigsburg is already facing multiple sex charges after being taken into custody at his practice on East Laurel Street in Tremont on August 3rd, 2022.
For the first arrest, Dr. Parkinson had been charged with 1 felony county of sexual extortion by engaging in sexual conduct/nudity, 2 misdemeanor counts of indecent assault without the consent of others, 1 misdemeanor count of indecent exposure, 2 misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct by using obscene language/gestures, and 2 misdemeanor counts of harassment.
The charges stem from an investigation into reports that he inappropriately touched and exposed himself to a former employee and patient.
According to Investigating Officer Trooper Bedford of the Schuylkill Haven State Police Barracks, Parkinson was brought before Magisterial District Judge Rossi a second time, on Tuesday, after 7 more victims came forward when the first arrest was made public. For both arrests, a total of 9 victims have reported incidents with Parkinson.
Dr. Parkinson's new charges include multiple counts of indecent assault, indecent exposure, and harassment. Judge Rossi released Dr. Parkinson on $50,000 unsecured bail for the second arrest.
He is scheduled to appear before Judge Rossi on October 6th, 2022 for a preliminary hearing.
