Director Jacob Shoener has directed the band for the last 2 Years, it will be his 3rd year with the district.
Shoener says the Spartan Band's theme/songs for 2022 will highlight some of the greatest jazz standards ever written.
This year the band will present their show Standard Time!
"Our show opens with the Gershwin tune “Strike Up The Band!”, featuring our drumline. Next, we move to Mongo Santamaria’s Afro - Cuban standard, “Afro Blue”. Our Band Front is featured in a stunning arrangement of Antonio Carlos Jobim’s Bossa Nova, “Wave.” Our show closes with a show stopping arrangement of the Harlem Globetrotters Theme Song - “Sweet Georgia Brown.” " Shoener said.
"The band is led on the field by Drum Majors Caileigh Kaminski and Brooke Powis. We would like to thank The North Schuylkill School District Administration and Board of Education, the North Schuylkill Band Boosters, as well as the community for their continued support of the Music Program." Shoener added.
