A Pine Grove man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after he assaulted a woman to steal cash last month.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022, Shawn Bonawitz, 35, of Pine Grove took $140 in cash from a female by force on the front porch of a home on Trumbo Road in Pine Grove Township.
A physical altercation ensued in which Bonawitz assaulted the victim by throwing her to the ground, kicking her multiple times, and dragging her by her hair out of the home.
Bonawitz was arrested on charges of robbery, theft by unlawful taking, simple assault and harrassment.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi who set bail at $50,000 straight cash.
Bonawitz remains locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 15th, 2022 before Judge Rossi.
