Shirley I. Jones, 79, of Pine Grove, passed away Sunday, September 4th, at home.
Born in Wayne Township on August 16, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Earl & Ruth (Peiffer) Nagle.
She was the widow of Charles I. Jones, Sr. The couple had shared 52 years of marriage.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is also preceded in death by her brothers: Robert, & Harold Nagle, James Lowthert, and sister, Sandra Natale.
She was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Friedensburg.
Shirley had worked as a machine operator for Meck's Knitting Mill, and retired from Alpha Mills Corp.
She issurvived by two sons: Charles I. Jones, Jr. husband of Christina, of Auburn; & Brian R. Jones, of Pine Grove; two daughters: Sharon L., wife of Michael Dixon, of Friedensburg; & Jennifer L., wife of Sean Preller, of York. Shirley is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Bradley, Kayla, Matthew, Amanda, Chase, Sean, Alicia, & Sara, great-grandchildren: Wesson, Bailey, & Lucca, a sister, Debra Horvat, a brother, Alfred Nagle, and several nieces & nephews.
She issurvived by two sons: Charles I. Jones, Jr. husband of Christina, of Auburn; & Brian R. Jones, of Pine Grove; two daughters: Sharon L., wife of Michael Dixon, of Friedensburg; & Jennifer L., wife of Sean Preller, of York. Shirley is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Bradley, Kayla, Matthew, Amanda, Chase, Sean, Alicia, & Sara, great-grandchildren: Wesson, Bailey, & Lucca, a sister, Debra Horvat, a brother, Alfred Nagle, and several nieces & nephews.
A private graveside service will be conducted at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven, at the family's convenience.
At Shirley's request, donations in her memory may be forwarded to St. John's Reformed Church PO Box 58, 17 Chestnut St. Friedensburg, PA 17933.

George R. Lesko, Jr., 91 of Shenandoah passed away on Tuesday morning, September 6, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 9:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment with military honors will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A viewing will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah.

Deanna M. Shuey, 84, of Ashland passed away Wednesday morning at Schuylkill Center-Pottsville.
Born in Gordon on March 28, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Helen and Clayton Boyer.
Deanna was the spouse of the late Lawrence Shuey who passed away December 29, 2017.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Over the years she worked for various factories in the area.
Deanna enjoyed crafting and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her spouse, she was preceded in death by; brothers Edward, John, Charles, William, Haven “Bud”; sister Catherine; granddaughter Victoria Hysock.
She is survived by; sister Sarah Umlauf, Fountain Springs; son Kenneth Shuey Sr, Ashland; daughter Beverly Hysock (Peter), Girardville; 3 grandchildren Kenneth Jr., Kyle, Alicia; 5 great grandchildren Kylah, Brian, Ayden, Jaxon, & Ryder; many nieces and nephews.
A service will be held on Tuesday September 13th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-11:00 AM at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow services at Salem United Methodist Cemetery-Weishample.
