Two women will faces charges after a drug bust in Minersville this past week.
According to Minersville Police Patrolman Jeffrey Bowers, on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022, borough police executed a search warrant at 618 Lewis Street in the borough.
During the search, officers found prepackaged pills of controlled substances that included Alprazolam, Lorazepam, Subatone, Clonazepam, Diazepam and non-controlled pills packaged for sale.
Bulk baggies of fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine along with 2 digital scales and an "extremely" large amount of narcotics packaging materials as well as hypodermic needles, drug paraphernalia, and Narcan intranasal injections.
When the search was initially executed, nobody was home, but as the search was being conducted Cinthia Shaffer, 36, of Pottsville and Audrey Yawornicky, 32, of Minersville, returned.
Both were taken into custody and searched.
Yawornicky, who lived at the address, was found to be in possession of additional methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.
Shafer was found to be in possession of a torch and pipe used to ingest controlled substances.
While at the Minersville Police Station, Yawornicky confessed to possessing and selling illegal substances from the home on Lewis Street.
All drugs were seized and prepared for transport to the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Lab for testing.
As a result, Yawornicky was charged with 2 counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, 5 counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernlia, and Shaffer was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both will are scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko on October 4th, 2022.
