Even though it was a day early, Mrs. T's Pierogies continued their annual tradition of raising a flag to recognize National Pierogy Day.
Now in its 14th year, employees from America's favorite pierogy-making company joined the community at Shenandoah borough hall on Friday morning to raise the National Pierogy Day flag.
Chris Dende, Vice President of Human Resources at Ateeco Inc., spoke prior to the raising of the flag "Picasso once said, everything you can imagine is real. 70 years ago, the founder of our company, Ted Twardzik Sr., had a vision about starting a company where he had 240 associates, and we are blessed to be a part of this great community. His son, Tom, has carried on this legacy and part of this mission, our legacy, is to make people smile. That resonates with the theme of what National Pierogi Day means to us especially in Shenandoah."
The flag was then hoisted up the flagpole with the American Flag where it flew over the borough of Shenandoah for the day.
Everyone who attended received one of the company's new bronze cups which contained a coupon for a free box of pierogies.
