Joan Elizabeth Lorimer, 
89, of Kaska, PA passed away on Wednesday, October 5th at her home.

Born in Pottsville, PA and lived in Tucker Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Regina (Harkins) Devalle. As a young girl, Joan's family moved to NYC, NY where she met her husband, Edward Lorimer. She lived and worked on the West side of Manhattan and raised her five children there for many years. In 1970 Joan returned to Kaska, PA and has been a lifelong resident since.

Joan is survived by her five children: Glenn Warden and his wife Annette, Valerie Mauer and her husband Bob, Cecelia DiCello, Edward Lorimer, and Charles Lorimer and his wife Denise; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

For her very small stature, her presence was larger than life. She had the amazing ability to make everyone feel important and good about themselves. Her smile was contagious and her love for family and friends was incomparable. Her positive influence was felt by all. Even in her failing health, the toughness she showed taught us all an important lesson on how important life is.

Joan was a member of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in New Philadelphia and worked for the State Manufacturing in New Philadelphia until it closed.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon on Friday, October 14th at 11AM, with Msgr William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery in New Philadelphia, PA.

William H. "The Chief" Huegel
, 60 years of age, of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.

Born Saturday, May 12, 1962 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania. the son of the late Robert, and Edna (Gilbert) Huegel. Bill was also predeceased by; brother, Duain Huegel.

Surviving are; daughter and grandson, Louise C. Huegel & Owen Hartzell; sons, Hoss, and Julian Huegel; brothers, Eugene Huegel and his wife Louise, Bruce Huegel and his wife Kathleen, Bryan Huegel and his wife Roberta, Robert Huegel and his wife Edna; sisters, Wanda Boltz and husband David, Charlotte Berube and husband Michel. Numerous nieces, and nephews also survive Bill.

A graduate of Chambersburg Area High School. Bill like his father, and brothers was a talented siding contractor. He was inquisitive, and pursued current technology, from learning how to manufacture tools on a 3-D printer to time spent building, and flying model airplanes with the Tuscarora R/C Club.

Charles F. Oliver
, beloved husband, father, grandfather, 86 years of age of Andreas, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at home while in the care of his wife of 61 years, Fay E. (Baker) Oliver.

Born Tuesday, November 5, 1935 in Spencer, Indiana the son of the late Charles Herbert, and Veneda (Henry) Oliver. Charles was also predeceased by his brothers; Donald W., James J., and Allen E. Oliver; sister, Angela L. Oliver.

In addition to his wife he is survived by; sons, Charles F. Oliver and Kenneth Oliver; grandchildren, Damian Oliver and his wife Nicole, Kenneth Oliver and his wife Nicole, Kyle Oliver and his wife Jordan, Kristian Oliver; great grandchildren, Eleanora, Roland, Azariah, and Hosanna.


A graduate of Ellettsville Indiana High School, Charles served honorably in the United States Military for 20 years. He began his military career as a Marine Corps Infantryman. He then transitioned to the United States Navy serving as a Hospital Corpsman, as both a “greenside corpsman” with the Marine Corps and on Gold Crew of the USS John Marshall, Ballistic Missile Submarine.

After retiring as a Petty Officer First Class, Charles graduated from one of the first classes of Penn State University’s Physicians Assistant (PA) program at Hershey Medical Center. Charles went on to be the first PA to practice independently in the state of Pennsylvania and later retired from the Pottsville Hospital.

Charles’s life revolved around his family, friends, and tending to his property in West Penn Township. Fay and Charles loved antiquing and attending auctions together. He always looked forward to family cookouts where he spent the day behind the grill or steaming clams. He was overjoyed to have known two generations of grandchildren.

Sean R. Allison, age 54, of St. Clair, PA passed away Thursday, October 6th, 2022 at his home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on June 2, 1968, he was the son of Larry and Elaine (Thomas) Uberti.

Sean was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Cook on the USS Buchannon. He worked as a Lieutenant Correctional Officer for SCI in Coal Township and for Graterford. Sean loved golfing, playing poker, family get-togethers and vacations, the Kansas City Chiefs, and most of all being a Father.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Jacqueline M. (Jones) Allison on September 6, 2017.

In addition to his parents, Sean is survived by two sons: Nicholas Allison and his fiance' Kara Beattie and Joshua Allison; two sisters: Leandra Strenkoski and her companion Stephen Prutzman and Kim Allison; and a brother Matt Allison and his wife Jamie.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 11AM on Tuesday, October 11th, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.

Interment with Military Honors will be held in the Cressona Cemetery.

Howard L. Snyder, 91 of Gordon, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the Rosewood Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven. 

The Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland, will announce funeral arrangements.

Eleanor M Bergan, 89, formerly of Bulls Head Rd., Norwegian Township passed away Tuesday, October 11th, with her son at her side at The Leland of Laurel Run, Waynesboro, Pa. 

Eleanor was born in Buck Run, Pa. on May 8, 1933, a daughter of the late Mary (Molnar) and Joseph Rapali. She was the widow of William P. Bergan, who died June 30, 2013. She was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel of the Holy Family Parish Minersville. Eleanor had once been employed at ACME Markets. 

In addition to her parents, and her husband, William, she was preceded in death by a Brother Joseph Rapali, and a Son-in-law, Charles Bobinis. 

Eleanor is survived by a daughter, Debra Bergan Bobinis, a son, William R., husband of Beverly Bergan. Eleanor is also survived by a sister, Ramona, wife of Jerry Matalonis. She is also survived by Grandchildren: William Bergan (Melissa) Jessica Stoll (Matthias), Maria Fagert (Steven), and Andrea Bobinis 6 great grandchildren: Kiley Bergan, Ella Stoll, Liam Bergan, Henry Stoll, Lilly Stoll, Lucas Fagert. 

A visitation will be held 9:00 to 10:30 am Monday, October 17, at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville with a funeral service following at 10:30 am. Interment at Saint Kieran #2 Cemetery.
