Beatrice Evelyn Walsh, who recently turned 101, passed away peacefully on Friday while a short-term resident of Schuylkill Center Nursing Home in Pottsville. Prior to that time, she remained in and celebrated her 100th birthday in her own home on Market Street.
Born Sept. 25, 1921, in Llewellyn, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Sadie Miller.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Robert Walsh, who passed away in 1973. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Irvin, Calvin, Mildred, Myrtle, Ruth, Helen and Norma.
Beatrice is survived by her children, Donald Walsh, of Pottsville, Dr. Robert Walsh, husband to Debra, of Easton, and Maureen Walsh, of Pottsville. She is also survived by grandchildren, Michael Walsh, husband to Courtney, of Phoenixville, Ryan Walsh, husband to Dawn, of Port Carbon, and Dr. Brandon Walsh, husband to Melissa, of Allentown; also great grandchildren, Emily, Aiden and Jamison Walsh.
Beatty devoted her life to the love and care of her family and so many others. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sibling, aunt and friend. Her happiest moments in life were those when surrounded by loved ones.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven, is entrusted with services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or www.stjude.org.
