Hometown Hero Flags Retired in Schuylkill Haven

The first phase of Hometown Hero flags are officially retired. The borough removed the flags a few months ago and they have been in storage. 

Thanks to Our Haven Foundation and Vicky Norris, owner of Lewis General Store, they have been displayed in town since 2017. The community is grateful for her leadership and coordination.

Earlier this month, volunteers cleaned, sorted and labeled the flags for distribution to the original sponsors. The sponsors can pick up their flags at the front office of the Schuylkill Haven Borough, which is located at 333 Center Ave, Schuylkill Haven, during normal business hours Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. While the flags are weathered, they are patriotic symbols of our loved ones who served to protect our families and nation. They deserve a good home in “retirement”.
