He was born June 22, 1955 in Pottsville a son of the late Fredrick & Dorothy McCready Gardner.
Ricky was a 1973 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.
He was an Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War Era.
He worked for various construction companies as a heavy equipment operator prior to retiring.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Thomas.
Surviving are his son Christian Gardner and his wife Samantha; a grandson, Brookes Gardner; 2 sisters, Rose Ann “Cookie” Clark, Denver, CO; Colleen Thompson, The Colony, TX; a brother, Ken Gardner, Warminster; nieces and nephews.
As per Ricky’s wishes there will be no services. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Ricky be made to the American Cancer Society, 712 Keyser Ave, Taylor, PA 18517.
Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.

She was born November 17, 1930 in Reading a daughter of the late Frank I. and Catherine Costello Saylor Renhart.
She was a graduate of Reading High School.
She worked the former Pottsville Sandwich Shop and the former Meridian Bank, Pottsville prior to retiring.
Mildred was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, and was a Democratic Committee Women for Bunker Hill.
Throughout her life Mildred was an avid BINGO player.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo J. Salle, Sr., on February 2, 2019; a infant son, Robert Weiss, 3 other sons, Rick, John and Stephen "Buzzy" Weiss; a grandson, John Weiss; 2 sisters Ruth Marie Saylor and Barbara Zemantauski; 2 brothers, George Saylor and Bernard Renhart.
Surviving are 3 daughters, Kathy Vernay, Debbie Kubeika and her husband, Edward; Barbara Petlansky and her husband, Robert; a son Leo J. Salle, Jr. all of Pottsville; 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11AM from St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:00AM-10:30AM Tuesday at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Mildred by made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Rd. Harrisburg, PA 17110. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.
