The Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville have released details on the crash that closed Interstate 81 southbound Tuesday evening during the wintry weather.
According to Troopers, the crash occurred around 7:20pm on Interstate 81 southbound near mile marker 107.6 in Frailey Township.
Police say John Ridley, 64, of Wilkes Barre was traveling south in a tractor trailer when he lost control on the left curve and became jack knifed across both southbound lanes.
A second tractor trailer, driven by Sava Cejic, 54, of Johnson City, NY, came upon the jack knife truck and was unable to stop, travelled into the median impacting a guide rail and the rear of the other trailer.
Both drivers were not injured but their trucks sustained disabling damage.
The southbound lanes of the Interstate were closed until 2:45am, Wednesday.
Assisting at the scene were Trail Towing, Donaldson Fire Company, Tremont Fire Company, and PennDOT.
