Nearly 5,000 homes are without power in Schuylkill County on Friday afternoon.
According to PPL, 4,750 homes were without power as of 4:30pm.
The largest outage is in the Tremont Township area where 1,108 homes are without power followed by East Brunswick Township with 863, and Pottsville with 631 in the dark.
For the Pottsville outage, a shelter will open at Martz Hall at 6:00pm.
