As of 10:00pm, Friday, over 1,000 were without power in Schuylkill County.
Earlier Friday, almost 5,000 homes were without power, and crews have spent the day continuously making repairs.
Schuylkill County Communications has had over 100 calls throughout the day, mostly for trees down blocking roadways and knocking down power lines.
As of 10:00pm, PPL is reporting that 1,358 homes are without power.
The largest outage is in the borough of Port Carbon where 283 homes are without power. The next largest is Tremont Township with 252. Thats down a lot from the over 1,000 homes earlier. Washington Township and West Brunswick Township are also reporting large outages.
Smaller outages are also reported in Barry Township, Blythe Township, Branch Township, Butler Township, East Brunswick Township, East Union Township, Eldred Township, Frailey Township, Hegins Township, North Manheim Township, Pine Grove Township, Rush Township, Ryan Township, South Manheim Township, Union Township, Wayn Township, and West Penn Township.
Earlier, over 600 homes had lost power in the City of Pottsville. At 6:00pm a shelter was opened by the American Red Cross at Martz Hall for those residents to stay warm and stay the night if needed.
Since then, power has been restored to the City.
