A Port Carbon teen will face charges after he attempted to flee a traffic stop in Branch Township.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the incident occurred around 11:00pm on Sunday, December 18th, 2022.
Troopers say they were on patrol in the area of Phoenix Park Road and Main Street in Branch Township when they observed a Jeep Grand Cherokee commit a traffic violation. When troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver failed to yield, and a brief pursuit occurred in the village of Llewellyn.
Using a PIT maneuver, the Troopers were able to stop the vehicle and take the driver, Christopher Cicero, 18, of Port Carbon into custody. A juvenile passenger in the vehicle was release to a guardian.
Cicero was charged by State Police with fleeing or attempting to elude police, endangering the welfare of children, recklessly endangering another person, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief, careless driving, reckless driving, and numerous traffic violations.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi and released on $20,000 unsecured bail.
