Beatrice Lois Schuetrum, 88, of Tamaqua, PA, died on November 30, 2022, in Salisbury Township, PA. She was the wife of the late Marvin John “Whitey” Schuetrum, Sr. who died in 2008.
Born on February 26, 1934, in Schuylkill Township, PA, Lois was a daughter of the late Raymond and Lillian Beatrice (Schille) Hosler. She attended Tamaqua schools and was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Tamaqua. Lois was a strong woman who had many interests – cards playing, shopping, visiting yard sales, dining out, and watching Hallmark movies.
She is survived by children, Carol Sparich of Tamaqua, Deborah Schuetrum of Tamaqua, Marvin Schuetrum, Jr. and his wife Mary of Tamaqua, Sandra Andrews of Tamaqua, and Tina Miller and her husband Carl of Tamaqua; son-in-law, Michael York; 12 living grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Koch of Tamaqua. In addition to her husband, Lois was predeceased by children, Lois York and Franklin Schuetrum; a grandchild; sister, Elsie Zaprazny; and brother, Raymond Hosler.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy officiating. Interment in Odd Fellow Cemetery, 501 West Broad Street, Tamaqua will follow the services. Call 10-11 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.
Born in Saint Clair, on April 19, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Justina (Demanovich) Motto.
She was a 1949 graduate of Pottsville High School and a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Justina was a homemaker most of her life, but in her younger years she worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. and the Raring Card Shop.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard C. Mitchell, Sr., August 30, 1981, and to whom she was married 28 years; and sister, Marie Asaif.
Justina is survived by a son, Howard C. Mitchell, Jr., of Pottsville; nephews: Thomas Asaif, husband of Beverly, of Marysville, WA and Joseph Asaif, husband of Carla Aronica, of Carnation, WA.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on December 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 913 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Pastor Rev. Kevin Bobbin officiating.
Interment is private at the convenience of the family.

Lois A. Welsh, beloved wife, mother, nana, 79 years of age of Birch Street Hazleton, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton Campus.
Born Wednesday, March 10, 1943 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late John, and Doris (Barrett) Morgan.
Surviving are; her husband of 60 years, Charles LeRoy Welsh; daughters, Tara A. Carey and her husband C.J. of Hazleton, Tiffany L. Barbush and her husband Todd of Drums; grandchildren, Mia, and Kaylee; cousins who she saw as sisters, Sandra Malt, Sharon Kovatch wife of John III, Shelly Martino wife of Ed.
A graduate of St. Gabriel's Catholic High School class of 1962 Lois enjoyed playing Bingo; however she most cherished her role of wife, mother, and nana.

A Celebration of Lois's Life will be held on Thursday December 8, 2022 at 11 o'clock from the funeral home. Friends may visit from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
Interment will be in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Frank A. Chatcavage Jr., 65 of Shenandoah Heights passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at his residence.
Born in Shenandoah on May 1, 1957, he was a son of the late Frank Anthony Chatcavage Sr. and the late Adele Catherine (Spudis) Chatcavage.
He was a 1975 graduate of the former Cardinal Brennan High School, Fountain Springs and graduated from Stevens Trade School.
Frank was a retired union carpenter having been a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America Local Union 445, Scranton.
He was an avid sports fan and especially rooted for the Philadelphia Phillies, the Boston Redsox and the Washington Commanders. He also played softball for the Altamont Fire Company, Frackville. Frank also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a charter member of the Rodbenders Fishing Club, Ringtown. But above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his pride and joy, his grandson Aidan.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were two brothers, Stephen and Ronald Chatcavage.
Surviving are his caregiver and former wife, Mary Jo (Besparis) Chatcavage of Shenandoah Heights; his daughter, Jennifer Eva Chatcavage of Shenandoah Heights; two grandchildren, Aidan Anthony Diaz and Lukah Ryan Besparis; his cousin and caregiver, Pamela A. Paulaconis and her husband James of Frackville; his nephew, Stephen Edward Chatcavage; additional cousins and friends.
Religious Services will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 5:00 pm at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin St., Shenandoah with Rev. Mindy Heppe officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.

On Saturday, November 26, 2022, Marcus (Mark) Forte, loving son of Susan and Jake Whetstone of Schuylkill Haven and Ralph Forte of Saint Clair, passed away after a brave difficult battle with esophageal cancer at the age of 46.
Born in Pottsville, PA on January 5, 1976. Originally from Port Carbon and Willow Grove, PA. A graduate of Pottsville Area High School, McCann School of Business and Alvernia. Mark held an associated degree in computer science. A self-processed computer geek, Mark held various positions in IT at Kutztown University and taught at Berks Technical. His last position was as a driver for UPS Willow Grove, which he loved.
An avid exercise enthusiast, Mark found solace in long bike rides and runs, competing in various feats of endurance including Pocono Half Iron Man, Triathlons, Warrior Runs and Spartan Races. He also had a special love of playing golf. In his downtime, Mark was usually spending time with family and friends sharing his favorite foods- pizza, ice cream, cheeseburgers, and entertaining everyone with his passionate and comical story telling. Mark will be remembered for his quick wit, huge heart, outrageous Halloween costumes, and his sense of humor.
Mark was preceded in death by his brother Sean Forte, maternal grandparents Michael and Florence Kritak, paternal grandparents Joseph and Dora Forte, and best friends George Honse and Jesse Lishman.
In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by sister Tanya Keister (Chad), Apex, NC; brother Ryan Whetstone, Moosic; nieces: Hannah and Ruby Keister, Apex, NC; nephews: Chase, Carter, and Cole Whetstone, Moosic; aunts: Kathy Kritak and Michelle Gerstenfield, both of Port Carbon; Afra Lynn Gerstenfield, Atlanta, GA; and uncle Pat Forte, Minersville.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon on Saturday December 3rd at 11am, with Pastor Chris Rothharpt officiating.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visit with the family on Saturday morning from 9-11am at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be held private.
