Shenandoah Valley Holds Annual "Winter Arts Fest"

The Shenandoah Valley Art Department presented its annual “Winter Arts Fest.”

The event began with samples of artwork created by the members of the SV Art National Honor Society and displayed in the Virtual Academy Room.

The second portion of the program was held in the high school auditorium where the 14 members of the SV Sixth Grade Elementary Band performed a number of contemporary songs. They were then followed by the 40 member SVHS Concert Band who performed a number of both classical and contemporary seasonal songs that put the audience in a holiday festive mood. The event was coordinated by Art teacher Jennifer Zemek and Music Instructor and Director of Bands John Shoener.

Also honored were six members of the Shenandoah Valley Band who were selected to participate in the Schuylkill County Band and Chorus Festivals to be held at Pottsville and Tamaqua respectively.
