The West Penn Township Police have released addition information on Wednesday's fatal fire on Clamtown Road.
According to West Penn Township Police, on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022 around 3:50pm, West Penn Township Police along with Fire and EMS were dispatched to a reported working structure fire at 1121 Clamtown Road, West Penn Township.
Initial reports to responding emergency personnel, there was a resident entrapment.
Upon arrival, the home was engulfed with smoke and initial fire toward the back of the building and in the basement.
Searches were conducted for the missing resident along with fire suppression.
The fire went to a 3rd alarm with fire units from Schuylkill County, Lehigh County, Carbon County, and Berks County dispatched to assist.
Fire damage was extensive in the residence.
During the fire, 2 Firefighters, Zachary Paris, and Marvin Gruber both of New Tripoli, died fighting the fire as already reported.
Two West Penn Township Firefighters were treated for injuries, one flown to hospital and remains in intensive care.
Christopher Kammerdiener, a resident of the home, was found deceased in the rear of the property.
West Penn Township Police say this is still an active investigation and remain on scene. Township Police say the fire is being considered suspicious. The Pennsylvania State Police have been called and have been on scene to investigate the cause.
