A fire damaged an apartment in Pottsville Friday evening.
Just before 6:00pm, Friday, emergency personnel were called to 653 West John O' Hara Street in Pottsville for a report of an apartment fire.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire and smoke coming from 2 of apartments in the John O'Hara apartment complex.
Firefighters were able to make quick work of the fire and have it under control within a half hour. The apartment sustained heavy damage displacing at least 2 residents. Two people were at home at the time of the fire.
Fire units remained on scene for approximately 2 hours before clearing. There was no word on a cause as of this posting.
The American Red Cross was called to assist those affected.
