Schuylkill County Treasurer AnnouncesIntent to Seek Re-Election
On Thursday, Schuylkill County Treasurer, Linda L. Yeich, announced her candidacy for a third term as County Treasurer.
Yeich states, “There is still more work that can be done as County Treasurer, but I am proud of these accomplishments:
- Continuing to bring Hotel and other properties into compliance with the County’s Hotel Tax Ordinance and offering extended hours;
- Collaborating with Tax Collectors to establish uniformity of practices and procedures;
- Working with Commissioners and Finance Department to maximize interest income;
- Assisting Controller Sharyn Yackenchick to implement various ACH payments for faster payment to recipients.
During the last years seven years as Treasurer I have shown strong work ethic and coal-region values that the taxpayers of Schuylkill County can trust. As Treasurer and a small business owner I have proven I can get the job done. Hard decisions and not accepting the status quo don’t always make me poplar. The County needs to be run like a business being financially responsible, making tough decisions, and holding people accountable.”
Yeich is a life-long resident of Schuylkill County and resides in Wayne Township with her husband Todd Yeich.
She is a graduate of Blue Mountain High School and earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Penn State University.
Yeich serves on the Board of Directors of the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce and is an affiliate member of the Schuylkill County Board of Realtors. Yeich is also a member of American Hose Fire Station, Trout Unlimited, Frackville Business and Professional Association and the Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce.
