The investigation into a shooting at a movie theatre near Hazleton on Saturday evening is now a homicide investigation.
According to Public Information Officer Trooper Anthony Petroski, Troopers were dispatched to the theatre located at 400 Laurel Mall Drive, in Hazle Township around 8:15pm, Saturday for a report of "shots being fired".
An investigation revealed that Luis Manuel Luna, 19, of Hazleton was struck by gunfire in the arcade/lobby of the theatre. The shooter then fled the area. No details have been released on a suspect or shooter as of this posting.
Luna was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital to be treated for his injuries. As of an update Sunday, Trooper Petroski reported that Luna died from the injuries he sustained.
Troopers said they believe Luna was specifically targeted.
The Troop N Major Case Team continues to investigate the case which is now being called a homicide.
