Rep. Dane Watro (R-Luzerne/Schuylkill) took the oath of office on Tuesday to begin his first term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives during a ceremony at the state Capitol in Harrisburg.
“I am honored and humbled to be able to serve my friends and neighbors in our wonderful communities and look forward to the honor of being their voice in Harrisburg,” said Watro. “From ensuring Pennsylvania remains somewhere people desire to live and raise a family to providing relief to senior citizens, I am ready to get to work for you.”
The swearing-in ceremony marked the official start of the 2023-24 Legislative Session.
Watro represents the 116th Legislative District in Luzerne and Schuylkill Counties consisting of the Townships of Union, North Union, East Union, Kline, Hazleton, Mahanoy, and the boroughs of Ringtown, Mahanoy City, Shenandoah, McAdoo and West Hazleton. His district also consists of the City of Hazleton.
