Williams Valley High School Student Dies in Crash Thursday Morning

The Williams Valley School District has announced that one of their students died in a car crash Thursday morning.

The crash occurred along Route 209 between South Water and S. Railroad St., in Williamstown, Dauphin County, and involved 2 vehicles.  The crash closed Route 209 in the area while the scene was investigated and cleared.

Williams Valley Superintendent John Rizzo made the announcement to parents on Thursday afternoon only identifying the victim as a 17-year-old student.

Dear Parents & Guardians,
 
It is with great sadness that I inform our school community of the passing of a 17-year-old Williams Valley student as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Due to the age of this student, we cannot release the name, but we ask that you keep this student and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

Counselors will be available at the school for several days to talk with students who are experiencing stress or sadness. If you have concerns about your child, please contact the Williams Valley High School at 717-647-2167 (option 4).

On behalf of the Williams Valley School District, I have extended our sincere condolences to the family on this sad occasion. We will continue to inform you of the school’s steps in supporting students and their families.
