Helen A. Mazeika, 87, a resident of Shenandoah Senior Living Center, formerly of Girardville passed away peacefully, Monday, February 13, 2023.Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Agustus and Mary Philiponis Shelcusky.
She attended Ashland Schools.
She was a member St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Girardville.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Ernest T. Mazeika, in 2015; a son: Thomas Birster; sisters; Joan Price, Eleanor Maksymchock and Carol Nelson; a brother: Agustus Shelcusky.
Surviving are two daughters; Kim Elchisak and husband Michael, Pine Grove; Debbie Sosnoski and husband Eddie, Girardville; a son; Gary Mazeika, Ashland; 6 grandchildren; Justin Cunningham, Gary Mazeika, Jr, Ryan Mazeika, Shawn Sosnoski; Kevin Sosnoski and Thomas Birster, Jr.; 3 great-grandchildren; Shawn, Zachary and Mason Sosnoski; nieces and nephews.
Kim and Justin extend their grateful appreciation to the Birches staff and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care shown to Helen.
Gravesite Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 22 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Ann T. Stetz, 93, a resident of Providence Place, Pottsville, passed away peacefully, January 27th, 2023.
She was a daughter of the late Evelyn McCabe and granddaughter of the late John and Sarah Purcell, Patriotic Hill.
Ann attended Mahanoy Township Schools later moving to Philadelphia.
She was married to her late husband Jack for 68 years, living in New Boston, moving to Mahanoy City, then settling in Frackville in 2005. Both were members of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son Jack, grandson Ryan and a sister Sally and her family all of Florida. She was preceded in death by a son Joseph in 2019.
A private Mass was held in her honor at St. Ann’s Catholic church, followed by interment in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Mahanoy Township.
In lieu of cards or memorial, kindly keep Ann in your thoughts and prayers.
A sincere thank you to the staff of both Providence Place, Pottsville, and hospice team members of Compassus for the excellent care shown to Ann while in assisted living.

Born in Ashland, August 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Henry Wetzel and Mary Magdeburg (Tophoney) and a step daughter of the late Louis Tophoney.
She worked as an aid at the former Good Samaritan Hospital and York Terrace Nursing Home. She enjoyed Bingo and gambling.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Tobias Sr; a son Charles Jr.; a son Louis; a daughter Jeannette Edwards and a grandson, Thomas Noel.
Surviving is a daughter Linda McCall wife of Jeff McCall of Pottsville; 2 brothers, Robert and Richard Wetzel and a step sister Mary Agnes Zerby; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 21st, 2023, at 10AM from the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. Relatives and friends can call from 8AM to 10AM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.

Joseph M. Picola, Jr., 84, of Tower City, formerly of Williamstown, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at UPMC-Harrisburg.
Born in Loyalton, January 20, 1939, a son of the late Joseph Sr. and Arlene Troutman Picola. Joe was a 1956 graduate of the former Williamstown Catholic High School.
He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran and also served in the Air Force National Guard.
Joe was a retired group leader at the former AMP, Inc, Williamstown.
He was a member of the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a current member of Our Lady Help of Christans Church, Lykens. He also was a member of the Williamstown American Legion.
Joe was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and spending time at the Lykens Valley Hunting Club with his son Jeff and friend Randy. He could often be found cheering on his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. Above all, his family was the center of his world. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Janice Roadcap Picola; a son, Jeff Picola and his wife Kristen, Williamstown; a daughter, Ann Fetterhoff and her husband Jeff, Elizabethville; a brother, Michael Picola, Wiconisco; two sisters, Rose Kolva, Fountainville, and Cheryl Stine, Williamstown; three grandchildren, Jarod and Paige Picola, both of Williamstown, and Amellia Nunemacher, Tower City; two great grandsons, Trenton and Dawson.
Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services with military honors on Friday, February 24 2023 at 11:00 am from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Cemetery, Williamstown. Following the services, a luncheon and time of fellowship will be held at the Dayton Hall, Williamstown.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Tower City EMS, P.O. Box, 33. Tower City, PA 17098.

Charles W. Brobst, 80, of Minersville, assed away Saturday, February 18th, at his residence.
Charles was born in Pottsville, Pa. on April 12, 1942, a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Brobst. He was the husband of Elaine Marie (Heffner) Brobst. He was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel of the Holy Family Parish, Minersville. Charles was formerly employed in the maintenance department at WalMart.
Charles was the last surviving member of 12 siblings.
Charles is survived by his wife, Elaine. He is also survived by his in-laws George and Jean Heffner. Also surviving are numerous nieces & nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 23rd at St. Michael the Archangel Church of the Holy Family Parish with Reverend Jason F. Stokes officiating. Interment at Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery Suedberg Rd. , Pine Grove Twp In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside S.P.C.A. 5 S.P.C.A. Rd. Pottsville Pa 17901.
