Geraldine M. Horan, 77, Girardville passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 23rd.

Born in Ringtown, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Cleo Miller Horan. She worked for Dee Fashions and later worked for the Ashland Hospital until her retirement.

Geraldine had a profound love of animals especially her dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Michael Horan.

Geraldine is survived by her son Tim Horan and his companion Kim Eye of Girardville; her daughter, Michelle Breininger and her husband Ray of Ohio; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.

Stephen J. Recchione
, 58, of Tower City, passed away very unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born in Philadelphia, May 5, 1964, a son of the late Chris Jr. and Lillian Lewis Recchione. Steve was a 1982 graduate of Williams Valley High School.

Steve owned and operated Steve's Autobody in Hegins for the past 33 years - a business he took great pride in and dedicated many hours to.

Without a doubt, Sprint Car Racing was a huge part of Steve's life. From racing with his sons to owning his own car, it was a passion second to none. He was the sponsor of the ZEMCO Sprint car for over 30 years. For the past eight years, he was the owner of Recchione Racing.

Steve's motto was, "Work Hard, Be Successful and Take Care of Your Family." He lived by these words and his family was his world.

Surviving are his wife, Robin Black Recchione to whom he would have celebrated 13 years of marriage in June; two sons, Stephen Jr. and Dustin Recchione, both of Tower City; a stepson, Kristopher Swartz, Hegins; a stepdaughter, McKenzie Swartz, New Cumberland; a brother, Chris Recchione III (Becky), Delaware; a nephew Christopher Recchione IV; three grandchildren he adored, Sophia and Kalani Swartz and Noah Zampelli. Steve is also survived by his beloved dog and companion, Harper, many friends, and his racing family.

Family and friends are invited to a public visitation on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 1-3 PM at the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City.

Steve will be laid to rest privately in the Greenwood Cemetery with his parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.

Michael Walter Lafferty
, 77, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday, March 22nd, in Wayne Twp.

Born in Pottsville, PA on September 29, 1945, he was the son of the late Doris (Fisher) and Sterling Lafferty.

Michael was the loving husband of Joan M. (McShaw) Lafferty, to whom he was married 30 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Michael retired as a Welder at Steco Trailers, St Clair.

Michael is survived by his eight children, Jodie George, Lynn McGovern, Kim Hannaford, Joe Lukach, Tina Felty, Joan Marie Callaghan, William Lukach, and James Hartnett; 21 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings, Kenneth Fisher, William Lafferty, Tina Aungst, and Joanne Purcell.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Mike Jacobs.

He was the most caring man you could ever meet who brought smiles to so many faces.

He will be missed by so many people who adored him.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Wade United Methodist Church, St Clair at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 29th with Pastor Jack Murray officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held 9:30 - 10:30 am at church.

Interment with full military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA.

At the family's request, monetary donations may be forwarded to Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home Inc., 25 East Main Street Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972 to defray funeral expenses.

Andrew Petrousky, 61, of Minersville, passed away on March 22nd, 2023 at his home.

Born in Ashland on November 20th, 1961 he was the son of John Petrousky who survives and Barbara (Powlick) Petrousky who preceded in 2022.

Andrew was a 1979 graduate of North Schuylkill High School. He worked construction for several years. Andrew loved many sports, but enjoyed football the most.

Besides his mother Barbara, he was preceded by his brother, Thomas Petrousky, and his nephew, Edward Wascavage.

Surviving are his 4 children, Andrew Petrousky with his wife Jia, John Petrousky, Lindsay Croker with her husband Adam, and Dana Sincovage with her husband Michael. 2 sisters, Barbara Wascavage with her husband Edward and Karen Dade with her husband Brian. 7 grandchildren, Hunter, Ava, Virginia, Reese, Archie, Cael, and Kierra. Nieces and nephews also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 27th at 10am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 260 N. 2nd St, Girardville, PA, and will be officiated by Fr. Giuseppe Esposito. Burial will immediately follow in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Englewood, Frackville.

The Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc. are entrusted with the arrangements.

Helen Ann Rovinskie-Borzok
, 72, ofW Pine St, Frackville, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 22, at home.

Born in Ashland, September 5, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Rovinskie and Josephine Medalis Rovinskie. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband Ralph Borzok, and her brothers, Robert Duven and Ben Rovinskie Jr. She was a 1968 graduate of Immaculate Heart High School.

Helen had a fulfilling career and retired from SCI Mahanoy where she made many lifelong friends.

Helen's passions included playing bingo, rooting for the Eagles and Phillies, taking leisurely walks, and enjoying lunch dates with her dear friends Barbara Gaverick and Barbara's daughter Shannon Mandel. She took great pleasure in watching her favorite streaming shows with her close friend Mary Ann White. She especially loved being a grandmother to AnnaJo and MaggieLyn.

Helen's memory will be lovingly carried on by her daughter, Michelle Borzok-George, and her wife Rebecca, and her granddaughters, AnnaJo and MaggieLyn, who all reside in Macungie, PA; her son, Michael Borzokand his wife Sherrie, who live in Mission Viejo, CA; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Helen's life will take place at 11 am on Saturday, April 15, at Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home in Frackville. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
