On April 21st, 2023, the "Whats So Cool About Manufacturing?" awards for Berks and Schuylkill Counties were presented to the winners.
Presented by Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC), the Student Video Contest: “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” (WSCM) gave students in Berks and Schuylkill Counties the opportunity to network with local manufacturers as well as gain new perspectives, record their experiences and present them in an educational and “cool” way through documentary video production. The program was created to generate excitement that draws students towards considering manufacturing career paths to create a 21st century workforce.
The Winners are as follows in each category:
- Outstanding Overall: Conrad Weiser (John F. Martin & Sons, LLC)
- Viewers Choice: Blue Mountain (Clearly Clean)
- Outstanding Videography: Governor Mifflin (Viwinco, Inc.)
- Outstanding Creativity: Kutztown Area (Easypak)
- Outstanding Editing: D.H.H. Lengel (Hexcel Corporation)
- Outstanding Cool: Oley Valley (Unique Snacks)
- Outstanding Team Spirit: Tri-Valley (Keystone Potato Products, LLC) and Exeter Township (Misco Products Corporation)
- Outstanding Educational Value: Wilson West (Cambridge-Lee Industries)
- Outstanding CTE Story: North Schuylkill (Ashland Technologies, Inc.)
- Outstanding Outreach Plan: Boyertown West (R.M. Palmer Company)
- Outstanding Career Pathway: Minersville (Prysmian Group – Schuylkill Haven)
