The American Red Cross is assisting after a fire in New Philadelphia on Friday.
The call came in around 10:45am, Friday, for a report of a kitchen fire at 161 Valley Street in New Philadelphia.
As the first chief responded, he called in a column of smoke could be seen as far as Kaska, and when Police arrived they found fire shooting from the roof of the home.
It took firefighters over an hour to bring the fire under control that heavily damaged the homes at 155, 157, 159 and 163 Valley Street.
A 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with burns from the home where the fire started.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist 3 families, that included 6 adults and 1 child.
A State Police Fire Marshal was called to the scene investigate a cause.
