Even with the weather uncertain for Saturday, the Girardville St. Patrick's Day Parade marched on and honored local volunteer firefighters.
With rain in the forecast throughout the week, it was uncertain if the parade would go on after being postponed from the week prior.
But by the scheduled noontime start time, the clouds broke and it was sunny skies for the parade.
Over 60 units took part in the 19th running of the parade.
The 2023 theme was "Honoring Local Firemen" with the Mike Kitsock, of Pottsville man who is a member of the Girardville AOH and has also dedicated over 50 years of his life to the volunteer fire service.
The crowds were lower than year's past but the spirit of the parade was still there and celebrated the Irish heritage.
