The annual North Schuylkill Elementary PTO Basket raffle is taking place this weekend.
The event opened Friday evening with over 500 prizes up for grabs including their major prizes that include tickets to see Taylor Swift in concert in Philadelphia, tickets for Morgan Whalen, and $5,000.
There are prizes for every member of the family.
The event is organized annually by the PTO to raise money for field trips, school supplies, programs, and other items that go directly back to the students.
President of the PTO, Taisha Wayne, said this event couldn't of happened without the help of the community.
She thanked all the businesses that sponsored the event and donated items towards prizes and the North Schuylkill Administration and School Board for approving the event.
She also thanked the event committee, PTO Board, consultants, students, and their parents for donating prizes as well.
Wayne also specifically thanked Charlotte Czeponis, a parent and lead organizer for this year's raffle.
Graphics and Artwork for this year's raffle was created by Pat Rex and the North and South Schuylkill Vo-Techs helped with printing posters and signs.
The raffle is taking place at the elementary school opened Friday evening and will be open Saturday, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, and Sunday, from 10:00am until 12:00pm. Prize winners will be announced Sunday afternoon.
