Schuylkill County Native Promoted to Major within the Pennsylvania State Police


On Friday, a special ceremony was held in Harrisburg to recognize the promotions of 7 Pennsylvania State Troopers.  One of those Troopers is a native from Schuylkill County.
Colonel Christopher Paris, Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police, promoted Kyle R. Teter to Major and assigned him as Director of the Bureau of Records and Identification.

A native of Zion Grove, Schuylkill County, Major Teter most recently served as Director of the Bureau of Gaming Enforcement.

Major Teter enlisted in the State Police in 1997. Upon graduation from the Academy, he was assigned to Troop L, Reading. As he progressed through the ranks, he served at Troop L, Troop K, the Bureau of Integrity and Professional Standards, and the Department Discipline Office.

He was promoted to Corporal in 2005; Sergeant in 2008; Lieutenant in 2012; and Captain in 2020.

Major Teter is a 1984 graduate of North Schuylkill High School.
