Ricky David Boyer, 64 years of age, of New Ringgold, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at home.

Born Friday, May 9, 1958 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania he is survived by; mother, Dorothy E. (Comisac) Boyer - Cromyak; daughters, Tarra Shollenberger, Amy Bernard; brothers, Terry R. Boyer, Dean P Boyer; grandchildren, Mayli, and Emry. Many nieces and nephews also survive Ricky.

He was predeceased in death by; father, Robert Boyer; brother, Randy L. Boyer, step father, Francis J. Cromyak.

Ricky was a long haul truck driver for many years. An avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. Ricky canned his vegetables taking great pride in his home grown string beans, and tomatoes. Ricky enjoyed the companionship of his dogs.

Louise M Scheib
, age 78, of Hegins, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Mount Carmel Senior Center, Mount Carmel.

She was born on Thursday, November 2, 1944, in Valley View, a daughter of the late Alvin J Maurer and the late Mary E (Wenrich) Maurer.

Louise was a hairdresser for fifteen years and retired as a reimbursement specialist for the University of Pennsylvania.

She was a member of the Central Schwenkfelder Church, Worcestor.

Louise enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and reading. She was very involved with her church..

She was preceded in death by her parents; by a son, Timothy M Scheib, and a daughter, Tammy L DeMito.

She is survived by a daughter, Vicki A Troutman and her husband Rodney of Hegins; son in law, Paul DeMito of East Norriton; five grandchildren, Cody Troutman and his fiancée Chantelle Neupauer of Auburn, Bianca Bukasa and her husband Kabongo of Pottstown, Tanner Troutman of Muncy, Danielle Edwards and her husband Terrance of Norristown, and Kaeleigh Scheib of East Norriton; three great-grandchildren, Nolan Edwards, Nori Bukasa, and Everleigh Troutman; brother, James A Maurer and his wife Karen of Litiz; and two nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc, Valley View, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 11:00 am, with Rev. David Mckinley officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.

John P. Melusky
, 69, of Shenandoah, passed away on Tuesday, April 11th, 2023, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton.

Born in Shenandoah on September 29th, 1953, he was the son of the late Edward and Kalestina (Murawsky) Melusky. John attended Shenandoah Valley High School then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp having served during the Vietnam era. He worked as a correctional officer for SCI-Frackville for many years. He was a member of the East End Field and Stream Club, the V.F.W., and enjoyed fishing.

John is survived by his wife of 12 years, Jacqueline (Salvadore) Melusky , a brother, Edward Melusky with his wife Margaret of Quakake, and nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, April 17th, from 7:30am to 8:45am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc., 40 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A burial with full military honors will be held at 10am in the Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.

Anne McGinnis, 86, of Andreas, formerly of Atlantic City, went to heaven peacefully on April 2, 2023. 
Anne loved the beach and was a pro-life activist. Devoted mother of Lisa Migliori (Frank) and Edward Knorr. 

Loving grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 

Preceded in death by her beloved children, Michael Knorr and JoAnne Bradley, and her dear companion, James Kelly and former husband, Edward J. Knorr. 

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 at St Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by a Mass.

On Sunday, March 12, 2023, John Michael Chalkan, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Bumpass, VA. John, 71, was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend who was known as “Papa John”. John was a son of the late John and Margaret Chalkan (Stinsky) who was born and raised in the coal regions in Mahanoy City, PA.

He spent his childhood growing up alongside his brother Mike and sister Carol and graduated from Mahony Area High School in 1969. He married his first love, the late Maxine Doris Yeager, on May 6th, 1972, and they raised two children together. Upon his graduation, he attended McCann School of Business, became a butcher by apprenticeship and retired from ACME Market in Doylestown, PA. Three years ago he moved to Bumpass, VA to live near his daughter and family.

Papa John is survived by his son, John George Chalkan, his daughter, Heather Anne (Chalkan) Noland, her husband Michael Dean, and step-daughter, Kimberly Welliver. Additionally, is survived by three incredible grandchildren Brady, Morgan & Madison Noland, many amazing nieces, nephews, brothers & sisters in-law and friends.

John was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret Chalkan, his wife Maxine and second wife, Rhonda (Pickering), his sister Carol (Chalkan) Schott, brother Michael S. Chalkan, sister-in-law, Charlene (Yeager) Bloom, brother-in-law, Brian Yeager. We celebrate the reunion that has occurred of our beloved family members.

Papa John will be missed by all that knew him as he was kind, loving, dedicated to all, especially his grandpuppies, Cooper & Jackson. He enjoyed visiting family and friends, spending days outside, igniting bonfires with his son-in-law, never forgetting special birthdays, holidays or anniversaries and spending time with his family for Sunday suppers and games. John enjoyed cruising with Tommy and Gayle, the Donnas, Roger, Dave & Holly, spending time with family in New Orleans watching the Saints, playing the lotto, trying his luck at the slots, making his famous baked beans, or watching the Yankees.

A memorial viewing service honoring his life on earth will be held on May 6th, 2023 at Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home in Mahanoy City, PA. The family encourages donations in support of the Good Hope Church Christian School Building Fund (https://goodhopelive.com/give) in lieu of flowers.
