The results are in on the Republican ticket for the Schuylkill County Commissioner's race.
According to the unofficial results posted by the Schuylkill County Election Bureau, Larry Padora, of Tamaqua, and Baron "Boots" Hetherington, of Ringtown have won the Republican nomination in the 2023 Primary for Schuylkill County Commissioner.
The results from the Republican side of the race are as follows:
- Larry Padora - 5,871
- Barron Boots Hetherington (Incumbent) - 5,210
- Mary Jo Moss - 4,534
- Maria Casey - 3,751
- Jeffrey J. Dunkel - 2,819
- Dan Evans - 2,674
- George Halcovage (Incumbent) - 2,545
- Ray Jones - 2,001
Padora ran on the message that the county needed bold, conservative leaders who will stand strong for taxpayers by fighting lockdowns and reassessments while restoring good government.
He is the owner of Padora's Italian Bakery in Tamaqua and is a big supporter of small business.
Hetherington is currently the Chairman of the Schuylkill County Board of Commissioners and was appointed to Commissioner after the passing of Commissioner Frank Staudenmeier in April 2020.
Hetherington is also the owner of B & R Farms in Ringtown.
The Republican nominees will face off for the 3 Commissioner Seats against Democrats Gary Hess and Rita Anczarski-Baldino in the General Election in November.
