Just before 7:00pm, Monday, emergency personnel were called to the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 at mile marker 118, between the Minersville and High Ridge Exits, for a report of a motor home fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found the rear of the motor home on fire engulfing the trailer hauling a corvette on behind.
The fire closed Interstate 81 as units from Minersville, Frackville, and Cass Township battled the blaze and units from Llewellyn, Phoenix Park, Newtown, Donaldson, Joliett, and Gordon assisted with a tanker task force.
By 9:00pm, most of the fire units had cleared the scene, but PennDOT took control of the scene for cleanup.
One lane opened later in the evening.
As of Tuesday morning, there were no details on what led to the fire.
