Firefighters are at the scene of a multi-alarm house fire in Mahanoy City.
The call came in around 2:15pm, Wednesday when emergency personnel were called to 1038 East Market Street, Mahanoy City for a possible house fire with entrapment.
Chief 48 arrived on scene and advised of fire coming from the 2nd floor of the home and responding firefighters found heavy fire in the rear of the home.
It was later learned that the home was vacant and there was no entrapment.
The fire hit a second alarm calling in additional manpower.
Firefighters had the fire under control in about a half hour but the home was badly damaged.
As of 3:00pm, Crews remain on scene doing overhaul.
