The Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville have released details on Thursday morning's crash involving a tractor trailer rollover on Interstate 81.
According to Troopers, the crash occurred around 5:50am in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 at mile marker 125.6, just north of the Frackville Exit in Ryan Township.
Police say the Zachary Long, 27, of Shamokin was driving a Western Star 4700SF tractor trailer for Maine Drilling and Blasting from Tremont, hauling hazmat explosive materials when his right front tire blew out causing him to lose control.
The tractor trailer struck an embankment causing the truck and trailer to overturn onto its passenger side.
Long was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.
Fire personnel used extreme caution while arriving and on scene for the incident. The highway remained open and was only restricted to one line while the scene was cleared.
Responding to the scene were Schuylkill EMA, Good Will Fire from Frackville, Ryan Township Fire, and Englewood Fire.
