A fire early Thursday morning in Shenandoah is under investigation.
At 12:01am, Thursday, emergency personnel were called to a house fire at 215 East Cherry Street in Shenandoah. The call reportedly came in when someone saw smoke coming from the roof of the abandoned home.
Firefighters from Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, and Frackville were quick to respond and contained the fire to the attic of the home and marked it under control within 30 minutes.
According to Shenandoah Fire Chief Rick Examitas, the fire is under investigation and a fire marshal will be at the scene Thursday morning to investigate a cause.
No injuries were reported.
