The annual Soap Box Derby returned Saturday on West Laurel Street in Pottsville.
The competition was split into three divisions: Stock, Super Stock, and Masters Division.
Practice began around 9:30am, Saturday, with racing beginning around 10:00am.
By mid-afternoon, the division Grand Champions were being crowned.
The Champion from each division will move on to the International Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio, on July 22nd, 2023.
This year's winners:
- Stock Grand Champion - Gavin Lutsky sponsored by U.S.S. Achey, Inc.
- Super Stock Grand Champion - Ryan Examitas driving the Joe Cully Special in Memory of former derby director Joe Cully who passed away this past October.
- Masters Grand Champion - Jayden Moyer sponsored by the Chicora Family.
