Dee shared many wonderful memories with her family and her sisters Barbara and Elaine. Dee is a graduate of Pottsville School of Nursing and had a successful career as an Operating Nurse, Director of KeyPro and Medical Writer for Smith Kline Pharmaceuticals. Dee was the widow of Lee Gorman and they shared 54 years of marriage together. Dee was the wonderful Mother of 2 children and Mom Mom to 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Dee will be remembered as kind, loving, smart, creative and beautiful. Her favorite place in the world was her beloved Cape May, NJ.
Dee is survived by her son Brian Gorman (Chris) of Schuylkill Haven, PA and their children Stephanie Chuba (Matt), Guy Lehman (Raechel) and Matt Lehman (Melissa). Her daughter Kim Pizzirusso (Doug) of Wallingford, PA and their children Andrew and Matthew. Her great grandchildren Chase, Matthew, Jack, Andrew and Kelsey. Her sister Elaine Dix and nieces Jennifer Danko and Melissa Simon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 10:30 AM from Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 201 Randel Street, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Msgr. Edward Zemanik will be officiating. Visitation is in the church from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the church. Burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA, will be private.
Dee had a strong religious faith and was especially devoted to St. Jude. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dee’s memory to the St. Jude organization at www.stjude.org or by mail to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 18105 In lieu of a donation, please pass a kindness forward. The family has witnessed the most amazing acts of kindness in the past few months with the love showed by so many. Dee would love seeing that kindness to continue and shown to others.

Ronald “Snapper” F. Maurer, 85 of Lavelle passed away Monday at Regional Hospital of Scranton.
He was born on June 17, 1937 in Mowry and was the son of the late Marion (Hummel) and Luther Maurer.
Ronald graduated from Ashland High School in 1955.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Ronald served in the United States Air Force and followed with a 26-year career in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS Post 156-Lavelle.
He last worked as an auto mechanic.
His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting and working on classic cars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Lawrence “Larry” Maurer.
He is survived by; brother Timothy Maurer (Lynn), DE; brother David Maurer (Phyllis), Girardville; sister Linda Walacavage (Ray), Ashland; many nieces and nephews.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 15th from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 12:30 PM with Fr. Giuseppe C. Esposito officiating. Interment with military honors will follow services at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be in Ronald’s memory to Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, 401 Penn Ave, Scranton PA 18503.

Thomas Zarcufsky loving husband, father and "Pa" passed away on May 8th, 2023.
Tom was born on November 24, 1963. He was the son of the late Joseph Zarcufsky and Jean Joyce.
He was a jack of all trades and worked in the mechanical field, but his biggest accomplishment was raising his family with the love of his life, Melissa (Missy) Zarcufsky, for the past 33 years. He loved waiting for the Penn State games and cheering for the world to hear. Those who were fortunate to know him, experienced his wonderful sense of humor and deep love and pride for his family. He enjoyed sports and any activities involving the outdoors.
His entire world were his kids Jimmy, Jennie and Tommy. He is also survived by his daughters-in-laws Britt and Stacey. His favorite littles were his four grandsons Brantley, Hunter, Dominic, and Tanner. He will also be missed by the ones he would not admit to being his best friends Rusty, Winter, Nittany, Tink aka Tigs, and Sassafras.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, May 15th, at 11 AM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown. Visitation with Tom's family will be from 9 AM until the time of the service.
