The Pennsylvania State Police have officially declared 3 simultaneous fires on Thursday in Girardville a case of arson.
At 2:38am, Thursday, emergency personnel were called to the area of Vine Street and B Street in Girardville for a report of a garage fire.
Girardville Fire Chief Frank Zangari was first to arrive on scene and found a fully involved garage fire on Beech Alley.
As emergency personnel responded, a garbage can was found on fire approximately a block away at 123 B Street, and minutes after that, a call was received at Schuylkill 911 for a brush fire on the walking path near Girardville borough hall.
Girardville's Girard Hose and Ranger's Hose Companies handled all 3 fires.
The garbage can fire and brush fire were minor and were handled within minutes.
The garage fire destroyed two garages and a shed, as well as two vehicles inside the garages.
State Police Fire Marshal arrived on scene early Thursday morning before sunrise to investigate.
According to a release Thursday afternoon, from Trooper Hall, all 3 fires were ruled arson.
Investigators are asking anyone that may have seen anything suspicious, or may have security cameras in the area of B Street that would have a recording from 1:30am to 3:00am to contact Chief Zangari by calling (570) 276-6922 or Trooper Hall by calling (570) 874-5300.
