On Sunday, hundreds of young anglers attended the Gordon Game and Fish Youth Fishing Rodeo.
The youth only event allowed kids ages 0 to 15 to fish for hundreds of fish that were recently stocked in the Little Mahanoy Creek next to Gordon Park.
The creek was broken up into sections to allow the children to fish fairly in their age group. Nearly 700 fish were stocked in the creek the day prior to the event.
The event is held yearly, but this was the first event since 2019 due to COVID-19.
Prizes were awarded to kids who caught the biggest fish!
New this year, the Gordon Game and Fish worked with the Pennsylvania Fish and Game Commission to restrict the creek next to children for the next month. Only children ages from 0 to 15 will be allowed to fish at the park from May 5th, 2023, to June 4th, 2023.
