A fire displaced 2 people in Frackville late Monday.
The call came in just before 11:00pm, when emergency personnel were called to the area of South Middle Street and Oak Street in Frackville for a report of a house fire.
The call reportedly came in from a neighbor who say flames on the side of a home.
Frackville Fire Chief Bill Lindenmuth was first on scene and called in a working fire at 137 South Middle Street.
According to neighbors who lived nearby, the fire quickly engulfed the two attached homes.
Firefighters from Frackville, Englewood, Altamont, Mahanoy City, and Shenandoah responded to the scene and had control of the fire within a half hour.
The fire caused extensive damage to both homes.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal arrived on scene just before midnight and investigated the cause.
According to Chief Lindenmuth, the fire originated in the kitchen area and was caused by careless cooking.
Two people were reported to have been displaced.
