Firefighters are at the scene of a working fire in Mahanoy City.
The call came in at 8:09am when Schuylkill 911 reported receiving multiple calls of smoke and flames coming from a home in the 1200 Block of East Market Stret, Mahanoy City.
Firefighters arrived to find the fire at 1220 East Market Street. A 2nd alarm was issued calling in additional manpower from surrounding communities to the scene.
By the 20-minute par check, Mahanoy City Chief Dan Markiewicz reported the bulk of the fire being knocked.
As of 8:45am, firefighters were ventilating smoke from the home. The American Red Cross was called for 2 adult males from one home, and a female from next door. The main fire building address was listed at 1220 and extended into 1222.
Early reports were the fire started on the first floor. A State Police Fire Marshal was requested to the scene.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries during the incident.
