Five people are being assisted after an apartment building fire in Reilly Township on Monday evening.
The call came in just after 8:00pm, when emergency personnel were called to 12B South Tremont Street, (Route 209) in the village of Newtown, Reilly Township for a possible house fire for a report of a bed on fire.
When the first chief arrived on scene, it was reported that the second floor of the home was fully involved with explosions, with the fire extending to the third floor.
The fire was knocked within a half hour of arrival and no injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist with the 5 people that were displaced from the 3 apartments in the building.
There was no word on what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
